Formic Acid Production and Applications

Formic Acid

Formic acid and other carbohydrate sourced compounds can be used for drilling fluid, ice removal, water purity, plastics and, most importantly, heat transfer (coolant). Formic acid can also carry hydrogen for fuels cells in plastic tanks under ambient pressure. Unlike compressed hydrogen at 700 bar pressure, formic acid cannot explode, is flame proof and tank filling risk is minimal.
